The 2025 summer transfer window has officially reopened and for West Ham United, the urgency to act is growing.
After an early phase from 1 to 10 June, introduced due to the extended FIFA Club World Cup, things came to a halt.
Now that the full window is back in effect, running through to 1st September 2025.
A Growing List of Links but No Signings Yet
In recent weeks, the Irons have been linked with a wide range of targets.
From forwards like Dominic Calvert-Lewin to midfielders in France and attacking options in the Championship, the speculation has been non-stop.
Calvert-Lewin in particular is attracting fresh attention, with new reports suggesting a potential move. More on that will be covered in a separate piece in a couple of hours from now.
Exits Confirmed but Squad Still Thin
While there have been no new arrivals, several players have departed.
Aaron Cresswell, Lukasz Fabianski, Vladimir Coufal, Danny Ings and Kurt Zouma are all set to leave following the expiry of their contracts.
Financial limitations remain a factor, with the club expected to manage sales before new signings are confirmed.
Missed Opportunities and Market Competition
The quiet approach has already come at a cost. Brighton secured Olympiacos striker Charalampos Kostoulas, a long-time target for the Irons.
That deal highlights the competitive nature of this summer’s market. Further hesitation may result in more missed opportunities.
One Arrival in Place and Others Needed
Jean-Clair Todibo is the only confirmed addition so far, with his permanent move set for 1 July. Internally, he is viewed as a fresh option in defence.
But with Michail Antonio still recovering from a road accident and key departures across the squad, reinforcements are urgently needed.
Potter and Macaulay’s Crucial Window
Manager Graham Potter and recruitment lead Kyle Macaulay are under pressure. This is their first full window together and fans are looking for signs of progress.
If the Irons continue to stand still while others act, the gap will grow wider heading into next season.
The Window Is Open and So Are the Rumours
With the market fully back in motion, speculation will increase. At HammerBytes, we’ll continue tracking developments and providing clarity on what’s real.
