West Ham Reportedly Tracking Rangers Striker Hamza Igamane

West Ham are showing interest in Rangers forward Hamza Igamane, according to a report from The West Ham Way.

The 22-year-old Moroccan is said to be on the Hammers’ radar as the club looks for smart, lower-cost signings during a summer window shaped by financial caution.

Former West Ham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that club scouts have already been monitoring Igamane. “They’ve had scouts up there watching him, and he’s one of the names on their radar,” said Brown, who suggested the club could make a formal approach soon.

Uncertainty Around Premier League Step-Up

Despite his form at Rangers, there are questions over whether Igamane is ready for the jump to Premier League level. “He’s looked impressive for Rangers at times, but he’s playing in a side which finished 17 points behind Celtic, so it’s a difficult one to judge,” Brown explained.

He added that West Ham’s decision will come down to more than just raw talent. Price, availability, and how he stacks up against other targets will all be taken into account. “They’ll be looking at the scouts’ reports and comparing him to other options,” Brown said.

Potter Expected to Add in Attack

New Hammers boss Graham Potter is expected to prioritise new attacking options after a frustrating campaign in front of goal. Brown noted Potter’s interest in bolstering the forward line, but wasn’t sure if Igamane fits the profile the manager is after.

Igamane’s age and potential make him a possible long-term asset. But given West Ham’s need for immediate impact, it’s not clear whether the club can afford to take a gradual approach with this one.
