West Ham third kit 25/26 season

West Ham 3rd kit | Black and Gold Umbro Design Set to be Released

West Ham United’s 2025/26 third kit, featuring a striking black and gold design, is set for its official release this Wednesday.

In what will be the club’s final third kit by Umbro, the new strip marks a bold break from the traditional claret and blue, steering into fresh territory ahead of a new chapter with New Balance.

Trusted club insider ExWHUEmployee confirmed the third kit’s release date earlier in the week on The West Ham Way’s Patreon. He stated, “We can confirm that the new third shirt will be launched this Wednesday,” and hinted that fans should expect something special.

A fan-made mock-up by westhamfan86 has already been making the rounds online. Ex revealed the design wasn’t official but was “a very close reflection” of what supporters can expect. The real version, he added, features “subtle patterning woven into the material,” which should give it a premium finish.

Black and gold West Ham shirt stands out in 2025/26 range

According to early leaks, the shirt will feature a black base with striking gold detailing.

The crest, sponsor branding, and trim are all expected to be gold, giving the shirt a bold, classy edge. Although images of the full strip haven’t dropped yet, Ex confirmed there are whispers of coordinating black and gold shorts and socks too, though those details remain unconfirmed until launch day.

ExWHUEmployee wasn’t shy about his opinion either, calling it “by far the nicest kit out the three” for the new season.

Fans react positively to bold third strip

Feedback around the leaked look has been largely positive. Many fans were left unimpressed by this season’s home and away kits… especially due to comparisons with Hearts and a lack of blue, but the third kit seems to have turned the mood.

Some of the early fan reactions on The West Ham Way include:

  • “At least the third kit looks like one I’d actually buy, finally some gold!”
  • “The black with gold is classy. Reminds me of some of the best third kits we’ve had.”

While not everyone is sold on ditching the club’s traditional colours, the buzz around this release suggests it could become a fan favourite.

A final Umbro send-off before New Balance takes over

The 2025/26 campaign marks the end of West Ham’s long-term deal with Umbro, with New Balance set to take over kit duties next season. That means this black and gold number could end up being a memorable send-off for the brand’s chapter with the club.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see the full design unveiled, with the official launch coming this Wednesday.
