Tyler Dibling at London Stadium

West Ham among Premier League clubs eyeing Southampton star Tyler Dibling

West Ham United are one of four Premier League clubs showing strong interest in signing Southampton midfielder Tyler Dibling, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

The highly rated 19-year-old has been valued at between €55–65 million (£47.4–56 million) by the Championship side, and West Ham are weighing up a move as part of their plans to reshape the squad this summer.

Dibling, who already has Premier League experience and has represented England at youth level, continues to attract attention at the top level despite Southampton’s relegation. Though no formal offers have been submitted yet, West Ham are one of several top-flight sides who have made enquiries.

West Ham Target Dibling in Potter’s Premier League Rebuild

Under new boss Graham Potter, the Hammers are keen to bring in young, energetic talent, and Dibling fits the profile perfectly. The club see Dibling as a potential key addition in their moving towards a younger and more dynamic squad for the 2025/26 season.

Dibling made 33 appearances in the Premier League last season, starting 20 games and scoring twice while clocking over 1,880 minutes of action. Despite Southampton’s drop to the Championship, his performances have stuck with scouts across the league, including in East London.

Premier League Rivals Also Tracking Midfield Talent

Plettenberg also reports that Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Nottingham Forest are monitoring the teenager alongside West Ham. Liverpool were also thought to make a move, which previously put an end to any hope of Tibling move to West Ham at the time. While Southampton are open to interest, they’re holding firm on their valuation and have yet to receive concrete proposals.

The level of interest reflects the high regard in which Dibling is held nationally. His rapid development last season hasn’t gone unnoticed and has sparked conversations across multiple Premier League recruitment teams.

Tim Steidten’s Praise Could Be a Clue

Steidten and Moyes

Tim Steidten, West Ham’s former technical director, has also weighed in on Dibling. Speaking to Sky, he called Dibling “an outstanding player” with a sharp burst and elite ball control. Steidten’s past scouting of the Southampton man could influence West Ham’s views, even after his departure.

He added that a move abroad appears unlikely, pointing towards a Premier League switch as the more realistic next step for the young midfielder.

West Ham Could Fund Move Through Player Sales

Landing Dibling won’t come cheap, and West Ham may need to move on a few fringe players to make it happen. According multiple reports, the club are considering letting several players go, such as Nayef Aguerd, to raise funds.

The signing would be a strong statement of intent from the club, especially if paired with another marquee addition. Inter Milan striker Andrea Pinamonti remains on West Ham’s radar as well, with a double deal potentially reshaping Potter’s frontline.

Dibling Seen as Potter-Era Cornerstone

Dibling isn’t just a flashy addition. West Ham insiders reportedly view him as a long-term piece who could help settle Potter’s squad early and set the tone for a more consistent campaign.

With heavy competition for his signature and a steep asking price, West Ham’s push for Dibling could serve as a major moment for the new era under Potter—and a clear signal of the direction the club wants to go.
